A better place to grow

Situated in the heart of Saskatchewan’s scenic parkland, Shellbrook is a dynamic and steadily growing community of more than 1,500 residents. Set in the transition zone between aspen parkland and boreal forest, Shellbrook has deep roots in agriculture and forestry, shaped by the early settlers who cleared jack pine forests to cultivate the land.

Today, Shellbrook is a vibrant hub for recreation, community life, and outdoor adventure. Residents enjoy top-tier facilities such as the Richardson Pioneer Recreation Centre and the highly regarded Hidden Hills of Shellbrook Golf Course. The town is also home to a large, fully equipped hall used for weddings, banquets, performances, conferences, and events of every kind.

Shellbrook’s access to nature is exceptional. With the spectacular Prince Albert National Park just minutes away – and seven regional parks plus countless lakes nearby – Shellbrook is a gateway to fishing, boating, camping, hiking, and year-round exploration.

Welcoming, diverse, and full of opportunity, Shellbrook is an ideal place to live, work, and build a future.
Healthcare
The community offers strong health-care services. The Parkland Integrated Health Center provides hospital, emergency, and acute care services, long-term care and a wide range of community-based programs that include Home Care and Public Health. This facility is strongly supported by the Shellbrook and Districts Healthcare Foundation, which plays a key role in advancing local health initiatives. Additionally, primary care services are offered by both physicians and nurse practitioners through the Shellbrook Primary Health Care Clinic nearby.

Community Settlement
The Parkland Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee focuses on providing “soft landing” supports and assistance for physicians and health care professionals arriving and settling in the community. Some of these supports include: assisting with accessing housing, automobiles, childcare, spousal employment opportunities or providing community information, making social connections and facilitating healthcare appreciation events, to name a few.

Education
Shellbrook offers quality local education with an elementary school serving Kindergarten to Grade 5 and a high school for Grades 6 to 12. These schools provide a complete K–12 learning pathway within the community, supporting students close to home.

Sturgeon Lake Regional Park

A local perspective from Angela Aug, Combined Laboratory & X-Ray Technician

Why do you enjoy living and working in Shellbrook?

“Shellbrook is surrounded by many lakes for those that love camping, boating and simply love the outdoors. We are a sports-minded community that enjoys hockey, ball and lacrosse. I work along-side a wonderful team including our own technicians, nursing staff and Doctors. The whole staff in the building is like family. A rural hospital comes with its own challenges but it is like no other. The skills and knowledge allows us to perform as an excellent care setting.”
