Healthcare and Emergency

The Shaunavon Hospital and Care Centre is an integrated facility with 44 long-term care beds, acute care, emergency, home care and a primary health clinic that is open 7 days a week for appointments. As a result of a collaboration between nursing services and Advanced Care Paramedics with STARS, the Hospital and Care Centre operates as a Collaborative Emergency Centre at night from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. In addition to the Hospital and Care Centre, Shaunavon is home to a number of additional health care professionals, including a dentist, optometrist, physiotherapist, chiropractor and multiple pharmacies.

Business Growth and Economic Development
The downtown business sector in Shaunavon offers a unique shopping experience for residents and visitors alike. Acting as the service hub for the Southwest, Shaunavon has the shopping and professional services that satisfy the needs and desires of our residents. Over the past few years, a number of new businesses have been established in Shaunavon including: a coffeehouse, home goods store, and a new gym and training facility, just to name a few. Heritage and Culture
The Grand Coteau Heritage and Cultural Centre is the Tourism Information Centre for the Town of Shaunavon. The Centre provides visitors and newcomers with information, maps, guides and brochures describing Shaunavon and the area, and all it has to offer! The centre is open year-round and offers a variety of cultural experiences!

Shaunavon offers a vibrant mix of wellness and recreational opportunities for all ages, from the SWT Outdoor Pool to the lively Jubilee Park area featuring tennis and pickleball courts, a skate park, playground, splash park, and more. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy four ball diamonds, the Braydon Coburn Outdoor Rink for winter skating and summer ball hockey, and the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre with its NHL-sized rink, curling sheets, and multipurpose spaces. Winter fun continues with an actively groomed cross-country ski trail, while year-round options include curling leagues, a new 9-hole Disc Golf Course, and the scenic Rock Creek Golf Course. Shaunavon’s parks, greenspaces, and paved Trans Canada Trail offer walking and biking routes, and residents can participate in a wide range of programs such as recreational hockey, pickleball, badminton, basketball, volleyball, indoor walking, youth camps, and senior activities.

Based on a market report conducted in February 2023 there were 46 houses listed for sale in Shaunavon, stretching across various price brackets. Education and Childcare Options
Education assets in Shaunavon include a public pre-K to grade 7 school, a Catholic pre-K to grade 7 school and a grade 8-12 high school. There are three Hutterian schools in the surrounding area, one licensed childcare facility, a co-operative playschool, as well as an ability center.
